Grace is important. It is the first step. But, cheap grace has infected the Church and has been a license for lawlessness which has left the Church being influenced by the culture rather than the Church being an influence on the broader culture. Salvation opens the door, but the believer must walk through that door and continue on the path of sanctification to make grace work. Yes, faith takes work! It is a verb and not a noun. It is not something you simply believe - it is something you do. If a so called believer is left unchanged by their experience, then I have to seriously doubt whether there was salvation at all - or was it just wishful thinking and something that sounded good at the time. Walking up an isle and saying a sinner's prayer proves nothing. Without works faith is dead. I will show you my faith by my works. These are words that cheap grace does not want to hear.
