Can I ask where this information came from...you have no references to any studies or any other information. It is very careless of you to post this kind of "information" without any sourcing whatsoever. I have posted a video below that you would do well to watch so that you could educate yourself....
Edit...The original quote is from the article listed by Dems2Felony under sauce study. The article actually was about the inconsisitent ingredients in OTC melatonin..."In short, there was no guarantee of the strength or purity of OTC melatonin"
"This well-designed pharmacological study from our northern neighbors showing that the content and purity of OTC melatonin is suspect prompts us to again request that the United States Food and Drug Administration regard melatonin as a medicine, and use all its forces to regulate it, and restrict its use to prescription-only."
Although it hit on many of the uses of melatonin and the suggested dosages of melatonin, the opening quote under the post title doesn't really relate to the article as a whole. It is my understanding that children should not be taking melatonin...but perhaps there is more research into suggested reasoning for treating kids with melatonin. Also...why are they trying to restrict melatonin...as they have for so many other effective medicines that they have taken out of circulation.....
