The thing is, Donkey Kong was kind of silly but that has more to do with the animation side of it than the voice.
Seth Rogan can't act, and every character he just plays is more Seth Rogan than that character.
Jack Black did surprisingly well as Bowser and I had no problem with him (except the Fuck Her Gently song inserted for the adult viewers)
