There are two times in the course of a full tidal cycle when the waters are the slowest: when the water is at high tide, and when the water is at low tide. At both these times, the water is moving the least, and the direction of the flow is least obvious.

As the tide moves away from low tide / high tide, the speed of the flow of water increases gradually until it reaches the fastest point, exactly midway between low tide and high tide. After it passes this midway point, the speed of the flow of the water decreases again until it reaches the next high/low tide.

What this means is, when the tide is actually turning, the flow of the water is last obvious. So, if you actually observe the tide flowing, then it means it turned quite a while back.

From this perspective, we should understand that the tide actually turned in our favor a long, long time ago. Some would say in 2016, is when the tide turned. Now, we are simply coming close to the midway point, and things are speeding up, and the wins are increasing in number and frequency.

So take heart. The tide turned a long time ago. And just like the flow of a tide already fully turned, nothing can stop what is coming.
