Yes correct, 617 Squadron lead by Wing Commander Guy Gibson who had a little black dog called Nigel (or something similar) :)
They attacked 3 dams in the Ruhr valley in Germany, the Möhne, Eder and Sorpe dams. I've been to 2 of them.
The bouncing bombs were developed by Sir Barnes Wallis and I actually had the pleasure of meeting one of his daughters many years ago.
With regards to the attack in Norway, I believe that was more of a commando mission.
