Kek, sure. Not a problem.

Let's just say that I have a special interest in language, how language generates culture, how language interfaces with conceptual formation.

I think the general usage and meaning of "hopium" has evolved a bit since it first emerged in 2021, but I still like to muck around with it. Some folks still use it to describe what it meant back then.

But don't worry, bro. My intent here is not to "get people to say hopermectin instead of hopium". It's merely to stimulate thinking about how we process information, how that information impacts on us, and the nature of various kinds of information out there.

I suppose it may be getting a bit tired (for some) at this point, but some folks still hear it for the first time and get something from it. So I'm OK with that.

Addendum: I think you make a good point. Mary wasn't using hopium in the sense I quote above. More like the sense that you reference. Thanks for adding to the convo.
