Humans cause most fires, one way or another, about 70%. I'm snarking at the inevitable crop of comments on every natural disaster that it was malevolent forces with advanced weaponry. However, I find it equally improbable that all the human caused fires are from the deep state sending out antifa squads. Probably chronic firebugs cause a few, and most are stupidity, like not clearing brush under power lines, throwing cigarette butts out of a car, storing flammables in the sun. My favorite is a ditzy dame who started a terrible fire here because she went out with a guy here who took her out in the desert, they "had a quarrel," probably "put out or walk," he drove off and left her, she had nothing but her cigarettes and a lighter, and decided to signal for help by starting a fire. Stupid from start to end. And, at this time of year, there are really are more fires caused by lightning because the spring grass is dry and now thunderstorms are beginning.
PS if you read my reference the big burn was caused by loggers. Not spontaneous combustion. No firefighting planes to stop it like now. Those loggers weren't really happy to burn down their livelihood.
