I think it's more of a case of manipulative, greedy individuals who rise to power due to people's ignorance. Totalitarian, yes, but not real Marxism. Still very political. The Reservation's real power lies with the Washington DC-based BIA (Bureau of Indian Affairs). The BIA is an organization composed mostly of virtue-signaling, white liberal do nothings and a handful of ambitious Native Americans who mostly could care less about their own people so long as their victim status, salaries and benefits stay in place.
