The problem is that TOO many people expect the Federal government to come to the rescue, whether from a natural disaster (or manmade disaster), or a company's financial disaster. When hurricane Camille wiped out major parts of MS and LA back in the early 1960's, it was the local people and private groups/organizations that helped the people recover, not the Federal government. This is how it should be, but perhaps is no longer possible because over time, they have made the country (citizens and businesses) become dependent on the Federal government in far too many ways.
