I agree with OP's notion that these metrics are indeed biblical, describing a few different facets of humanity's innate nature to sin and/or be deceived.
However, I would've worded the context differently. Yes, society is healthier without all of the nonsensical and manufactured "wants" in life vs what we truly "need". E.g. We don't need collectibles because of manufactured nostalgia thrown at us via decades of social engineering. We want those things because we think they are important to us because we are taught that they should be. A true need is love, clothing, shelter, food, etc.
