I can verify everything you so eloquently stated fren.

For the vast majority of Eastern & Northern Europe, the Germans were seen as liberators. Not so different from images and video taken from Western Europe where the local populous' welcomed the Allies with great enthusiasm.

So it wasnt that Eastern or Northern Europeans were inherently "Nazis", they simply welcomed the Germans because these regions were already occupied and persecuted by the Soviets. Space aliens couldve landed and pushed the Russians out and would've been held in high regard in the same fashion.

Interestingly enough once the Soviets reoccupied their lost territory, they were especially cruel towards the local populations for their "traitorous support" of the enemy.... When in fact they just wanted the liberty they once had. Suddenly entire towns were known as partisans and treated with much prejudice.

This is why literal caravans of civilians fled behind the retreating German lines and were housed in "camps"... You can guess which ones. These were refugees in essence, fleeing from the approaching Red Army that raped & pillaged local populations and subsequently murdered any who would not rejoin the Soviet cause.

Very muddied waters as anons can discern & understand. Especially considering 19th century history predicating all of this. You've got love for both the Russian & Prussian Empires thusly creating heavy Germanic & Russian influences culturally.... It's a historical mess!
