I was divorced, as was my husband. We could join but couldn't participate unless we both got an annulment at $3000+. Almost 50 years ago that was beyond our means. We could, of course divorce again and give up sex, which would have denied my children life. I loved the litergy and loved it at the Episcopal church I attended for 25 years. I have been quite sad over it all.
