Scalise is a McCarthy protege...... IMHO, the McCarthy faction urged Scalise to run. He was selected as their boy. Nevertheless, he still needs to be confirmed by the whole House, but I'm hoping that Gaetz and others force Scalise to oblige to the same deal as McCarthy agreed on.

If there was any lessons learned by McCarthy's treachery and broken promises, I sure hope Gaetz and others learned from it to strengthen the deal.

Lastly, wasn't it Scalise who said that he wanted McCarthy voted back in as Speaker? I thought it was odd that Scalise suddenly wanted to be Speaker himself after Jordan announced his intentions. Scalise always declined the nomination before.
