I get it. I got wrapped up in the initial hype thinking that it would blast off again in a couple months. That was early in 2021 and I ended up paying about $180 per share (way before the 4:1 split). Over time, I sold off some stagnant shares my employer gave me and I managed to "average down" my cost-per-share as I bought more at a much lower price.
I'm still an idiot nowadays; but it couldn't hurt to buy a few tickets and direct register them in your name.
