Q only mentions Jesus in reverence once, in post https://qalerts.app/?n=4739

But it is in a prayer.

So, let's talk a bit about the authenticity of Jesus as it pertains to the Great Awakening.

I've heard some say he's just a hybrid alien. You got the Era of Light folks even suggesting they channel Yeshua https://eraoflight.com/2022/04/10/yeshua-your-fire-is-eternal/

That aside, I've got a very particular position on the Birth of Jesus which I need help answering.

To put it bluntly, did Joseph have sex with Mary BEFORE Jesus was born. That is, after she conceived but before he was born.

Someone I'm in an argument with suggests that Matthew 1:20 means that Joseph banged a pregnant Mary.

20 But while he thought these things, behold, the Angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, the son of David, fear not to take Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her, is of the holy Ghost.

His claim is that "fear not to take Mary thy wife" means that he had sexual relations with her.

I disagree, because not 5 lines later, in Matthew 1:25 it reads:

25 But he knew her not, till she had brought forth her first born son, and he called his name JESUS.

Which opens the door in several translations that he may have had sex AFTER she gave birth. I'm not here to discuss Mary being ever-virgin, mind you.

I just want an honest answer -- did Joseph have sex with Mary while she was with child?!

My own research suggests not only he did not, but that Matthew 1:25 EXPLICITLY was written to quash any belief that would be the case. It was so that no man could say that Joseph was the father. Her virginity had to remain intact up until the point of Jesus' birth, necessarily, so that a Virgin Birth could be confirmed.

If he had sex with her at any point during pregnancy, wouldn't that introduce a severe degree of doubt into the authenticity of the claim?

Tell me what you think. I really need this matter settled, if at all possible.
