This is David's ode to the man who invented what he called his "pianoforte," Bartolomeo Cristofori di Francesco. It's his (David's) idea of what Maestro Cristofori might have dreamed the night before he built his masterpiece.
Maestro Cristofori built his pianos around 1720, an improvement over the harpsichord, as he saw it. The piano has changed significantly since then, but Cristofori's basic escape mechanism is essentially the same as when he originally invented it. To this day, no one has been able to significantly improve upon it. It shows the great genius of a great inventor...enjoy this beautiful piece by the talented David Lanz...
