I feel bad but Ohio Issue 1 loss was legitimate. I'm here in Ohio and the ads "yes for Issue 1" outnumbered the "no to issue one" by about 10 to 1. They used every tactic from "you wont have miscarriage care if you vote no" a blatant lie to "get the government out of your family it should be a family choice vote yes". The RNC and others ran NOTHING for months! Finally the day before the election I received the "no to issue one" ads, a mailer, and a text message. The message came in at 6PM voting day. WTF!
On top of that they ran Issue 2 the legalization of cannabis for recreation on the SAME ballot. I saw the result!! Every young person showed up at my polling place and they usually are not there. Well if you are young and stupid you usually think abortion is fine (I did and I'm sorry everyday for that) and if you are there to vote so you can use marijuana then you might as well mark Issue 1 too.
Furthermore if they had left the 40 weeks in it wouldn't' have passed. Only 21%of Ohioans think that late term abortions are fine. You can see that if you come here and look at all the young mothers. They keep their babies even if they are 19 they keep them. I know several mothers that became mothers at 17-21.
Plus if you check county by county map and compare Issue1 and Issue 2, it actually looks right to me. Pull up two images and flip them back and fourth. That is exactly what I expected to see. No county that passed Issue1 voted down Issue2 and more counties thought Issue2 was fine than Issue1. Talking with people around here, that matches. I gotta say even people in my own family thinks weed is fine to use.
