"trust the science" was a mantra that was an inversion of the truth, because the science actually NEVER supported ANY of the covid and climate nonsense (by which I mean the responses: lockdowns, masks, vax, etc). It was all propaganda, and the actual science was buried and defamed, overridden and drowned out.

I'd say that "trust science" is very, very different in nature to "trust the Science", one being practical, empirically supported attitude, and the other a slogan for ignoring actual science by adhering to propaganda.
