It appears that the EU had only a slightly lower interest for the 1-week repo rate, and Turkey's rates have been dropping. BTW a 1-week repo rate is for very short-term loans. To recalculate that rate into a 40+% annual rate is disingenuous, if that is what the MSM reporters are doing, mind you, they are just parrots, so somebody planted the seed. I wonder who that was?

Apart from the 45 comms, there is the fact that Turkey has been advocating for Palestine (Erdogan is a Muslim, with strong contacts with Egypt). Turkey have been remarkable tame so far, but it has a fearsome army - the biggest by far, in that region (like a revival of the Ottomans). If they decide to do something, the IDF will be done.
