Russian vidya games are just better, Have been for several decades.

In the public sector, I have been looking at a Digital Transformation (and this transformation is advancing every year, and it is global). Once Local Councils take on software to deal with their operations, there are several things that happen:

  1. the 'clients' (you and me) generally get a better and more prompt service, and that's good.

  2. In general software makes it much harder to 'fudge' things, because everything is recorded, with reasons, and it is audited. Bye bye much of the corruption, pocket stuffing and bribes.

  3. The people who interface with the 'clients' become more empathetic - i.e. they realize that public service = serving the public, not screwing them with arbitrary rules. Although some will try and stick to the law and become little tyrants, this is not the norm, and once those petty tyrants cause a few court-cases for the council, they are also weeded out.

  4. The people with the fingers on the keyboards (i.e. front-facing) have more discretion than the 'managers'. This is very unsettling for those who got themselves well-paying jobs by greasing themselves up the ladder in the 'old system'. Power to the pepes and all that. The keys-to-the-kingdom belonged to the managers before, with great flourish, and now, it is impossible to micro-manage the pedes, because the operators have to make micro-decisions with every keystroke.

And yes, this is all part of the Collapse of the old guard. The seeming correlation between industries can be traced to software development, IMO.

Also the 'woke' thing is due to the disastrous ESG rules developed by the WEF, who are desperate to keep their grip and relevance.
