You may remember I mentioned here about my husband and the CB. He doesn't read anything about the topics discussed here and thought I was nuts for almost three years. Finally he believes me but doesn't want it to dominate his thinking. We get along great but very different in some ways. I'm the investigator in the fam. I preached for over a year he needed to get a CB for communication with the 💩 hit the fan. We are very alike in we research the hell out of something because diving in. He found this guy in NC mountains that post about CBs. This guy was talking about the same thing needing if it went dark. About six months ago he got 1 cb and whatever goes with it (can't remember everything). Now he has about three CBs, amps, antenna and got used hutch for everything. Good thing I'm not the jealous type🤣 I have to admit it's very entertaining. He hasn't watched foreign TV & movies like I have and can't understand people from UK, Scotland and Ireland. Definitely can't understand foreign accents. I'm the interpreter and geography teacher. It's been lots of fun🤩 even though I call him from the den to tell him to shut the door.

There's a local group of men that meet for breakfast every morning and since he's off work he's been able to go a few mornings as long as I get a ham biscuit😉 Dang guess that's over since I'm changing what I'm eating. Oh well it was fun for a bit.

Now he has bought a hand held radio, don't remember name. (GMRS) It works on repeaters and you get a license number. I get annoyed sometimes with CB because it's loud. One of the guys in the breakfast club got him into this radio. Nosey runs in my family's DNA. He's sitting in here listening one night and one guy I know from high school and a few others talk every night about anything and everything. Told him he could have CB & I'd start listening to handheld. I have laughed so much listening to these grown men talk about life and a few local characters and local stuff. I personally think this is better than the CB because you can travel with it. Get your family to get them to be in contact in case of emergency, storms, power outages etc. Any time the phones are down. Having siblings and older parents scattered across the county I think this is great.
