Kubrick’s final cut isn’t the version that was released. There is a four to five hour version that will never see the light of day. Kubrick did deliver a shorter version of the film to Warner executives rumored to be just shy of three hours long. But shortly after Kubrick’s death Warner Bros. brought in Steven Spielberg (uncredited) to re-edit the final version that would be released to the public.

My theory is, Kubrick showed way too much truth in his edit and he had “final cut” meaning the studio had to release his version. He died “suddenly” after delivering his cut to the studio. Spielberg comes in and edits out all the juicy cabal exposing parts. Kubrick is no longer around to argue in the press that the studio destroyed his version of the film. Literally sweeping everything under the rug. The movie becomes an afterthought and the cabal shrugs any and all controversy off like it’s nothing, because it is nothing. At least it’s nothing like what Kubrick had intended.

Edit to add one very important detail: Eyes Wide Shut was released on July 16, 1999 the same day John F. Kennedy Jr. “died” in a plane crash. Kennedy’s death took all the wind out of EWS release weekend. Those two events were no coincidence. Q mentions Jr.’s death was the “start.” And the whole Q/white hat operation is based on dismantling the cabal - the world wide cabal corruption runs on sex/child trafficking. Kubrick was going to expose all of it with his version of the film. And Jr.’s plane crash kicked this whole thing off.
