Both my grandfather's fought in the pacific. One is buried at Riverside. For those unaware, Riverside is the west coast Arlington.

My father served in Vietnam. As navy, mind you, hehe.

Often think of my grandfathers. The one buried in Riverside was given an order to move his men up the mountain in the morning. He told his commanding officer, that is a suicide move, we will all die.

The officer said, yes, but keep in mind, the formations moving behind you. Do not bottle neck them. Move, move, move.

That was Luzon.

My other grandfather fought in Okinawa. He parachuted in "behind" enemy lines. I never talked to the man. He was "killed" by a drunk driver soon after.

But, two things always stuck out about this man. One, my father always specified there was no such thing as behind the lines at Okinawa and secondly, no movie has ever been made that talks or mentions the Navy guys thar dropped in the pacific.

Zero mention of them.

Few years after he got home, he is dead.

Year later?

His brother is dead by another drunk driver.

Fast forward to 1970's and every record of those servicemen is destroyed in a fire.

Fuck these people. They are evil beyond comprehension.
