I always raise an eyebrow at the use of the word Awakened in the title of this poem from 1917.
Its also funny that in the last year or so all the top searches for this poem turn up sites explaining that the poem was originally called "The Beginnings" and every appearance of the word 'Saxon' in the poem replaced the original word 'English'. I had never seen anyone claim that in all the years I have been aware of this poem and the many times I searched it on Google, Brave, et al. These claims are very recent. According to these sites this is now a racist poem.
Think there may some fuckery afoot.
