as for the twin towers, nothing else makes sense except for some kind of direct energy weaponry being used. the towers TURNED TO DUST.... BEFORE hitting the ground.
if they were allowed to crumble ONTO the streets below, all of Manhattan would have been underwater, everything underground would have been destroyed, etc.
