There's still real country music being made. You just have to look harder for it because it comes mostly from small-time independent musicians, not the mainstream.
One of the best places to find good new music is Bandcamp, which is a website where independent musicians can put their music for people to buy, usually with the option to listen to it for free first.
That's where I found bands like the Millwinders (a "rockabilly" band that played 1950-1960s-style rock and roll, country, and rhythm and blues music - they worked in a variety of styles). Sadly, the band split up around 2017 or 2018, but they have two great albums on Bandcamp.
