This is the real answer. Women are weaker to deceivers than men. Men are not as easily lied to, but many men sin like Adam and just go along with the lie the woman was tricked into.
I find it interesting that scripture testifies that through Adam sin entered the world. It doesn't say through Eve. It makes me wonder if Eve believing the serpent wasn't a sin, since she was always weak in that regard, it wasn't her job to resist Satan's lies, it was Adam's.
A few "progressive" men I know have confessed that they know a lot of these "progressive" things are lies, but you have to pretend to believe them so women will accept you.
