I do not believe in a "works" salvation. Repenting of your sins is a "work" that you do. Salvation is something Jesus does. He did the ALL the work on the cross. Saving you from your sins and an eternal life in hell is His FREE gift for placing your faith in Him.

The simple prayer that I included says "I know that I’m a sinner and that I deserve to go to hell."

The Word of God is not rhetoric nor is it a vaccine for Christianity. You do not have to "beg" God to save you either. He wants to save everyone and He has said that:

that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

As Christians when we sin, we should confess our sins to the Lord to remain in close fellowship with the Him but our ongoing salvation is not contingent on doing so.

Reading the Bible and praying are important post-salvation activities that "nourish" you spiritually but again your ongoing salvation does not depend on doing these things IMHO. One could argue that if you don't read the Bible and pray did you really believe in the first place? I am satisfied that the Lord knows who believes (and who doesn't) and that no one will trick their way into heaven.

Finally, I am here to direct people to a place of accepting Jesus Christ as their own personal Saviour based on what God has told us in His Bible. But I want to be very clear that I, in no way, endorse a "works" salvation. My belief is that ALL the "work" of salvation has been done by Jesus Christ on the cross and I am happy to say this on the day that we celebrate His resurrection from the grave. God bless.
