If I had to guess. The remote switch probably isn’t anything so advanced as Remote detonated explosives or kill codes. Especially since those signals could be blocked. Not to mention the potential for it to go off accidentally.
I’d imagine there’s pre-screened employees and facility Management with standing orders to take crowbars and blowtorches to the equipment and any blueprints/records.

Used to work for a firearms store with similar plans in the event of a ‘Red Dawn’ scenario. (The Owner saw the film snd remained slightly paranoid ever since). Employees were instructed to torch the copies of the 4473s and wipe computers. Before taking their pick of the inventory on hand and passing out the rest to whoever wanted it.
