From there you can read the rest and then go back to the Old Testament but the core of it is Jesus' love and how He already paid for your sins. And the most important commandment is to worship the Lord your God and Him only do you serve. Love thy neighbors and take the speck out of your own eyes before you try to remove the speck from other people's eyes.

The rest of the Bible like the history, revelation, and such, those are important only to a certain degree because life is short. Look around you and learn to love thy neighbors because even that's difficult to attain. If you can learn just one or two lessons from the Bible and live it, you're already one class ahead.
