The parent company of APL is CMA CGM and the current owner, Rodolphe Saade, is described as a Franco-Lebanese businessman. It's not unusual for large shipping companies to be international in nature, and headquarters locations MAY have more to do with international tax laws, but I suspect this ultimately has to do with the decades-long push by the DS to weaken America.
APL was first sold to NOL in 1997 during Slick Willy's term and that was sold to CMA CGM in 2016 during the renegade's term. As you recall during the obummer residency, he was practically pushing manufacturing out of the USA and into China while trying to claim it was for the good of the country. I don't know much about the laws that have been passed over the years regarding international trade that have been put in place by bad characters to weaken us, but I suspect the WHs have tracked this carefully along with everything else (especially since I'm sure international transport has been used for human trafficking).
Hopefully this, too, shall change and we'll get all our businesses back and working for our benefit - while eradicating the evil scourge of human trafficking into or out from our country.
