I stopped participating in any of it when it was obvious it was just a mind game. The same went for “Pay for Performance”. The evaluations were always a scam. When it came time for yearly raises, you got paid on a bell shape curve, no matter what you did. Nursing was a female profession, until males entered into nursing, viewing it as a stable job and a different perspective than females: care, concern, empathy for those in need. Many males went into areas of nursing that limited engagement with patients, were fast paced and challenging: ER, ICU, OR. Male counterparts often were promoted to leadership roles too, before their female counterparts.
