Anyone who thinks a dementia inflicted person is going to "realize they have an impairment" is crazy! My mom has dementia. Even after telling me the exact same thing for the 10th time in a day, she doesn't see it. She has no clue - maybe because it's decreased cognitive functioning. It shouldn't take an autist to figure that out. It's like a 10 yr old computer. Hardware can still work, but the when the software is corrupted - no fixing it.
