This is an information war. They stand on the deep state side. They propagandize their audience. This is what every faction or side in a war will do. So they have lost a consequential battle that will erode their power structure. To broadcast that would be demoralizing and potentially lead to defections in their captured audience. So it doesn't get mentioned. Similar to how losing ground or battles in a kinetic war will go unmentioned or denied if it is not immediately obvious to the population ( sometimes even when it is obvious) -- remember Baghdad Bob.
