I agree with you up until the "fake" part. On the contrary, the Jews went to Khazaria and did what they always do in the 6th century AD (if not before). They set up shop, took over the money supply, married into the Aristocracy (the Royal Scythians), and became an integral part of the Khazarian government/Aristocracy. Further, both the Royal Scythians who ruled in Khazaria (and Russia for that matter) and the ruling class of the group of larger Canaanites later called "the Jews" all have a common origin in the Royal Scythians/Aryans/Yamnaya.

So there is nothing fake about the Khazarians as Jews. They are an offshoot of Jews mixed with their distant cousins, just like all the other offshoot Jewish colonies of the time (in Rome, Constantinople, etc.) after the destruction of the second temple.
