It's the same principles. My HS teacher made us build bridges out of balsa wood.

So NO, I don't know of any other 110 story buildings that collapsed. But it would be the same principles.

We know that steel structures can fail due to fire. Chicago lost it's convention center in 1960s due to a fire

So yes the Towers are stronger than a 26 story, but they also have much more weight to support.

Not to mention that the fires were only on the upper floors

Which is where the collapse begins. Right at the fire.
