What's needed is solutions or strategies for the typical average ordinary run-of-the-mill unremarkable everyday American who's working hard, doing what all the financial conservatives said, invested in index mutual funds. Over half of all American households are in this boat.

Selling everything, paying massive cap gains tax, and buying gold and silver is one concept. Any other ideas which make sense?
