There will never be a rapture, secret or otherwise. God wins. Here.

The only people that'll be swept away will be the wicked just like in the days of Noah. Those that are in Christ which is symbolic of the ark, will be safe from fiery destruction.

The belief in the rapture was a completely fringe idea and eschatological position and virtually unheard of in the church up until a couple hundred years ago with the publication of the Schofield reference Bible which was the first Bible of its kind with footnotes and explanations of difficult passages. Unfortunately this Bible had this fringe position in it and it was widely adopted by pastors and seminaries and became the leading view of the end times within a few dozen years.

In my opinion it's the greatest lie the devil ever told because Evangelical Christians that think they are going to be yeetted to heaven whenever things get bad enough aren't typically fighting to keep things from getting bad and they're certainly not building and planning for generations to come. Basically no one polishes brass on a sinking ship.

It causes many to practically ignore the great commission and neutered the modern church.

I'll end with God's favorite Bible verse that appears more times in Scripture than any other... This is God the Father speaking to Jesus..

"Sit at my right hand while I make all of your enemies your footstool"
