Plastic surgery can change how one looks a lot, but the new Joe just looks so much different from the old Joe that I do keep thinking it's not the same man. And why would somebody getting a facelift or something have it done so that the end result looks like a completely different man, while not even looking all that much younger? Sure he seems to have some traces of scars that would fit a facelift, but still. And they might also be from surgery trying to make the actor - or one of them, as there perhaps are more than one - look a bit more like the original.

No solid proof so that has to be left as speculation, it could be just somewhat botched plastic surgery, or maybe that combined with the real Joe having a couple of doubles who will sometimes fill in when he needs to rest or something, but I do think it is a real possibility
