Topical because some wokesters are trying to ban the music now. If interested, one can hear the peasants dancing under the gathering storm clouds, and the hunting horns of militaries, and the cannons in the burning city (Moscow), while ringing the town bells in alarm.
1812 - Napoleon invaded Russia, with the help of the Prussians (now Baltics). They got burned out, starved and frozen. The French are still butt-hurt, IMO.
Although the two wars are not to be confused, I believe that the wars of 1812 were arguably a proto-World War.
