I, the undersigned, being learned counsel or authorized legal professional, hereby pledge to ___________________________ (hereinafter "Principal") that if and while I am in, or communicating about the possibility of being in, the role of legal service provider, I will:
- uphold all of Principal's rights and not knowingly waive any of them vicariously,
- be completely honest and tell only the truth,
- follow the law and not commit crimes or fraud,
- avoid following any policy that violates the law or Principal's rights,
- maintain ethical standards and not violate the code of professional conduct, and
- make good faith efforts to prevent or mitigate others' lawlessness in this respect.
This contract is not in itself one of legal representation and no representation is inferred. Whether or not we choose to enter into any additional contracts for legal representation, such as are needed to fairly and accurately measure the details of mutual considerations, this foundational contract is, and must remain, the core and primary condition thereof.
