Similarly-minded family, friends and acquaintances. A versatile skill set. A pack of hunting dogs. Try to keep back up 1 month of dog food in aluminum garbage cans. Try to keep a stash of liquor stored but somehow it always disappears. KEK Thanks for this thread. Made me realize we’re in pretty good shape but some items would be a reall pain in the ass not to have. I think I’ll go buy some more dog food. Maybe stop at the liquor store, too.

Similarly-minded family, friends and acquaintances. A versatile skill set. A pack of hunting dogs. Try to keep back up 1 month of dog food in aluminum garbage cans. Well water—working on convincing spouse we should get a hand pump. Katadyn water filter w/charcoal filters. 5 gallon drip. Counter top. Have had since Scouting days. Replacement filters. Generator, nothing fancy and it makes a lot of noise sucking 5 gallons fuel per day. But it keeps the water flowing, toilets flushing, freezers and frig going, and we can even use the washer and dryer. Just not both at once. A few Food grade-storage buckets containing Dry Rice and beans. 1/4 steer in freezer. 1/2 pig coming in October, God willing. Have always kept a stocked dry good/canned good pantry on a store-what-you-eat, eat-what-you-store, and rotate, rotate, rotate basis. But we have High humidity innawoods so gotta be careful about not overstoring. Adaptor for generator to run on either gas or propane. (Our power goes out 6-8 times a year for varying intervals.) Keep all vehicles minimum half tank gas. (Think of “half” as “empty.) 4 wheeler w/wagon Old railroad maps Oil lamps & oil Wood stoves Wood splitter Chainsaws Firewood, tons of it. Tarps, straps, and yes some gigantic BLUE ones just in case we need to cover the roof ala Maui Trailer A big tent, canopy All manner of farm, carpentry and mechanical tools Well stocked first aid kit including tourniquets and suture tools A bag or two of tobacco w/self rolling machine. Tobacco is probably stale, TBH. Try to keep a stash of liquor stored but somehow it always disappears. KEK Thanks for this thread.
