BTW, one of the lures of socialism as an idea to cultures like mine, especially as it was during previous generations, well, fairly small very homogeneous population both genetically and culturally, and with the custom of working together when somebody in the area needed help, helping without getting paid for it because all the people counted on getting the same help themselves if they needed it. So, pretty similar I guess to what your Amish still seem to do.

And a long history of being oppressed by an upper class who were mostly foreigners - Swedish, or later Russians, even if the Russian rule seems to have been less oppressive - or Finns who had abandoned their own in order to fit into those upper classes.

You tell that kind of people that they should kick out all those upper class types and start ruling themselves - power to the people and all that - and they don't think too far about what the system promoted to them actually would be like, or how it would work, but think in terms of that type of collective work, and how things might work at the small community level they are most familiar with, assuming that it would be similar in larger scales too.
