(Another interesting large tract of private land with no access, is the Huron Mountain Club, 30 or so miles north of Marquette on Lake Superior in the Huron Mountains. The club is so exclusive that Henry Ford had to promise to build the only road access (unimproved logging type road typical in rural UP)onto the land just to gain membership. Incidentally, the road north from Marquette ends in Big Bay (pop. 456) at the hotel where the movie "Anatomy of a Murder" was filmed and the incident occurred.)
