Regarding collagen, what most don't realize is that the stuff you see on the shelf mostly is beef collagen which is primarily types I and IX which is what your skin and hair are mostly composed of. Cartilage, ligaments and tendons are mostly type II collagen and for that you want to be consuming chicken collagen.
