Nothing here shows premeditation.
All of that would have occurred if there was a hurricane or not.
Is the argument that a hurricane would HELP getting the permits?
Or is it more likely that the hurricane DELAYS this project.
There is currently lithium mining in NC. This would be new project.
Lithium used to be mined in NC until foreign competition undercut them on price.
The US military says there is a strategic need for lithium than doesn't rely on foreign sources.

Evidence for delaying the project
Carolina Lithium should benefit from exceptional infrastructure, minimal transport distances, low energy costs, a deep local talent pool,
The 3 days for the permits seems false
EDIT see below
In May 2024, we received the finalized mining permit for the construction, operation, and reclamation of Carolina Lithium
This project is in Gaston County. Asheville is in Buncombe County. this project is much closer to Charlotte than Asheville
Gaston County saw flooding during Hurricane Helene, and much of the county was without power, but the damage was not nearly as widespread as the catastrophe Western North Carolina
So what exactly is the benefit to this project of severe flooding to the north and west of it?
