No offense, but I don't see what praying in matters like these accomplishes.
Let me see if I can explain what my thoughts on this are.
We're told that God is omniscient. That means He knows everything that has ever happened, everything that happens now, and everything that will happen in the future.
We're told that God is omnipotent, which means that He is I'm control of everything in creation.
We're told that God has a plan for everyone and everything.
So, taking all that, we can conclude that God knows about the hurricane, that God created the hurricane, and God has a plan for the hurricane.
So what is praying about this accomplishing?
Do you believe God doesn't know about the hurricane and you must inform Him of it?
Or do you believe that God has made a mistake by creating the hurricane and you're telling Him that He needs to change it?
God had His plan on what was going to happen with this hurricane set before you were born, so why do you think praying about it is going to change His mind about it?
To me, it seems like people are basically saying "Hey God, your plan with this hurricane isn't convenient for me, so could you please change it to suit me?"
