And if they have no place to preserve all of the bodies? Or to embalm them? Just leave them to rot? If they could cremate some that might be a viable option, get pictures and a DNA sample, attach those to the ashes, and once the family is finally found they can at least bury the ashes, which sounds more decent than having to deal with the rotting, stinking, bloated remains crawling with insects.

But that just said they can't do that either because they don't have the power.
