Right. He has to play his role. It's not over till it's over. We're still in the 2021-2024 phase.

Rather than reacting to Pence not endorsing Trump, consider the impacts.

Do you think that Pence's NOT endorsing Trump has influence ANY people away from Trump?

Do you think his endorsing Trump would influence any people towards Trump that were not already leaning towards Trump?

So, what are the practical impacts of Pence not endorsing and appearing to not support Trump?

It allows the DS to think that Pence maybe was NOT working with Trump. It provides narrative cover for the very issues this post raises, i.e. a DS VP being able to somehow block the legitimate election of Trump.

The most pivotal, certainly the most EMOTIONALLY provocative, actions by DJT+Trump were the post-election phase of the 2020 election. That's still playing out.

If, after Trump gets back in to office, he comes out and then criticizes or lambasts Pence, then I'd be much more inclined to conclude that the Trump/Pence feud was in fact NOT kayfabe. But there is so much to indicate that it is and was kayfabe.

As it is, all during the 1st Trump administration, he and trump worked like the very best of associates. It's only when the 2020 election phase began (and the Biden administration phase) that there was any emergence of a Trump vs Pence situation. All of a sudden, Pence looks like a traitor.

What if devolution was already in place before Jan 6? What if Pence HAD turned around and tried to block the certification of Biden? Would it lay a precedent that would allow future VPs to reject electors and block certification of DJT? If the DS tries to do that this time, how will it look when Pence himself did not do that, even when it APPEARED to be to DJT and Maga's advantage?

War involves the art of deception. To see through the smoke and mirrors, we need to apply cool, reasoning and fact-based thinking, NOT rhetoric or narratives that are flying all over the place and triggering emotional responses.
