Had to read the comments to find that this is a nuclear-capable ICBM, not a nuclear one.
Same difference right? Right?
Also for context:
The Russians are flying hypersonic missiles daily - not only that, they can alter he missile's course at will, and provide AI recognition towards the end, so that the missile recognises the target - we even get video. A smart, fast wiggle-worm with eyes. The West has no AD against doodley hypersonic missiles, but their AD can be confused with lots of look-mummy-there-are-lawn-mowers-in-the-sky, let's shoot them down with a whole billion-dollar Patriot battery. I have yet to see proof that any Patriot took out one of those hypersonics. I doubt Patriot radars can even see them (they streak to the naked eye), let alone differentiate between objects in the sky (which they don't). The radars do let off a signature for the AI to see, though. With spectacular results.
Also: The Russians did not start actively using hypersonic missiles in battle, until they had their own AD in order. So, even if USA tested 'a' hypersonic ICBM (proof: they are 'testing' one on election day), the Russian AD would shoot it out of the sky if it even approached. Sure as eggs, they will be tracking it for information.
